Photo Contest

Official Rules and Terms of Use

By entering the contest, participants agree to be bound by all of the following Official Rules and Terms of Use:

  1. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
  2. Each photo submitted must be an original product taken by the user. The user must have consent from all persons appearing within the photograph.
  3. The contest is open to legal residents of the Pittsburgh Metro Area only. Employees of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, post-gazette.com, franchises, licensees, parent companies or subsidiaries, and their immediate family members are not eligible.
  4. Entries must be submitted before May 27, 2008. Online entries only. Must have valid email address to enter. Sorry, no exceptions.
  5. Only one entry per person. Any attempt by a person to enter more than once may result in disqualification.
  6. post-gazette.com reserves the right to eliminate any entry due disregard for official rules.
  7. Winners will be notified by email on or around May 27, 2008. post-gazette.com and is not responsible for incomplete or out-of-service contact information. If post-gazette.com is unable, after making a reasonable effort, to contact a selected winner within 5 days, that winner will be disqualified and a new winner will be selected.
  8. 1 winner will receive 2 tickets to The Odd Couple at the O’Reilly Theater and 2 tickets to Projekt Revolution at the Post-Gazette Pavilion.
  9. Prizes are not redeemable for cash.
  10. Winners under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to claim the prize.
  11. post-gazette.com reserves the option to substitute prizes of equal value at their discretion.
  12. By entering the contest or by winning, participants grant post-gazette.com the right to publicize the participant's name, photograph, image, likeness, voice, statements, and biographical information for advertising, trade, and promotion purposes without compensation and without opportunity for review, except where prohibited by law.
  13. By entering, you agree to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, Official Rules and Terms of Use, and you agree to abide by all decisions of post-gazette.com.

 

Winners and entrants agree, except where prohibited by law, to release and discharge, hold harmless and indemnify Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, post-gazette.com, their employees, agents and representatives, officers and directors and their immediate families, successors and assigns, and all others associated with the development and execution of this contest, from and against any and all claims, actions, proceedings, and liability for any damages, expenses, fees, injury or losses (INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH) sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize or while traveling to, preparing for, or participating in any contest-related or prize-related activity. A parent or legal guardian of winners under the age of 18 will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and liability and publicity release on behalf of the minor child. Post-gazette.com reserves the right to change, alter, and/or amend these official rules as necessary, in their sole discretion, to ensure the fair administration of the contest or to comply with applicable law.

You understand that post-gazette.com has no obligation to monitor any bulletin boards, chat rooms, or other areas of this site through which users can supply content, materials or information. However, all content, materials and information submitted to post-gazette.com are subject to acceptance by the company. post-gazette.com reserves the right to delete, modify or supplement the content of this site at any time for any reason without prior notice. In addition, post-gazette.com may update and modify these Official Rules and Terms of Use at any time and any further use of this site is subject to such modified Official Rules and Terms of Use.

Submitting a photograph to post-gazette.com implies agreement to Terms of Use and Official Rules. All photos must be original products taken by the user, or the user must have all rights to transmit and license any photographic material submitted to post-gazette.com; free from violating trademark, copyright and privacy rights, or the rights of any other person. In submitting a photo to post-gazette.com, the user must have consent from all persons appearing within the photograph. Users are prohibited from the contribution of photographs containing expressions of hate, abuse, offensive images or conduct, obscenity or pornography or any material constituting or encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any law or regulation. All photographic uploads must remain free of software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to disrupt, destroy or corrupt the functionality of any computer software or post-gazette.com.

By uploading a photo to post-gazette.com (a) you grant a perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, copy, print, display, reproduce, modify, publish, post, transmit and distribute the photo and any material included in such photo; and (b) you certify that any person(s) pictured in the submitted photography (or, if a minor, his/her parent/guardian) authorizes post-gazette.com to use, copy, print, display, reproduce, modify, publish, post, transmit and distribute the photo and any material included in such photo; and (c) you agree to indemnify post-gazette.com and its affiliates, directors, officers and employees and hold them harmless from any and all claims and expenses, including attorneys' fees, arising from the photo and/or your failure to comply with these rules

Post-gazette.com reserves the right to delete, modify or supplement the content of this site at any time for any reason without prior notice. In addition, post-gazette.com may update and modify these Terms of Use and Official Rules at any time and any further use of this site is subject to such modified Terms of Use and Official Rules.
